Update of Adorable Abodes
Thank you all for your interest. You will not be disappointed by being on the distribution of the Adorable Abodes News.

Our mailing list has been bolstered by visitors of the Toronto Home Show earlier on in spring in which we introduced Adorable Abodes, but more so, we could see by the responses of folks going by our booth. Yes, out of 100 by-passers, only a handful were receptive to the idea of living small. This is a direct mirror of the way we think today. I bet you money this reception will increase manifold in 20 years’ time.

There were a good handful of people that are seriously interested in
living small and living with less. Some of them were interested in homesteading and gardening, all of which could be realized in our Beaver Pond Community.
Model Abode:
Interior finishing – no news here, we just did not do anything, except installing the dormers. Ahhh, the dormers. We finally attached them, after all we build them a year ago. Don’t they look cute? If you agree, I hasten to add that this is really their only virtue. Because other than looking cute, they are really useless. They are so small that to build them correctly, (in punching the roof and letting some more light in) is really defeating the purpose. They are so small that no noticeable gain in light can be achieved. Conversely, the cost to construct them the ‘right’ way would be prohibitive. So they are inexpensive, just sitting on top of the metal roof. For this reason, I call them ‘false dormers’. Useless, but cute. So there.

Update of approval of community:

No update, is not expected before mid-summer.

Property:

We were busy with constructing further trails within the property, while the constant rain did not help, we managed to beat the hot season. We even build a bridge over one of the numerous natural ponds. These are pathways for walking only to open up the natural growth and make it more accessible.
